September 28, 2015 01:56 PM PDTIn this episode while Jay @BlueJayConcepts is off getting hitched we talk to Peter Swanson about what he’s doing with drones. Peter is working with fixed wing drones not the new fancier rotary style or quad copter style drones. Peter goes a little deep on the history dating back to before radios and even remote controls, GASP! We even talk about the science behind flying at different altitudes, touch on what it takes for batteries on your quad copter versus fixed wing gasoline powered engines that are super efficient. The best part we declassify peter’s work a bit since the microphone loosens his lips. We’ll have peter back for more for the future, we just got him started this time. Hope you enjoy and we’ll be back to regularly scheduled fun next episode @jax989 (Jax) and @bluejayconcepts (Jay) the guys who really break circuits every so often. Dallas is getting a new Hardware Accelerator Rebel Dallas Hardware Accelerator - http://rebeldfw.com/ and @IzzyDiChiara is the person to talk to about them. Maybe a future guest. Finally as we talk education with Chirag we learn about the Fall Tech Splash: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fall-tech-splash-for-grownups-kids-tickets-17842512435 where even 2nd graders are learning how to code from Dr. Allen Sellars. Dr. John at UNT http://engineering.unt.edu/content/dr-kuruvilla-john is starting to do cool things with environmental sensors and collecting data and eventually we may see drones collecting data on the North Texas Environment. Chirag and Jax were wowed by high schoolers at the CAN Hacks event https://www.facebook.com/pages/CANHacks. The cool projects have lead to some cool potential remembering products.
